During Pregnancy and birth, women’s bodies go through a lot of changes to be able to do the miraculous things that it does.
One of the parts of the body that can be affected by pregnancy and birth is the pelvic floor. Your pelvic floor supports your bladder, bowel, and uterus (womb) and gives you control over when you empty your bladder and bowel. Having a weak pelvic floor contributes to stress incontinence and it can also mean that your bowel, bladder, and womb aren’t well supported and can cause a heavy, dragging sensation.
After pregnancy and birth, these muscles and ligaments may need a little attention to get them back to their best in supporting you and your non-pregnant body.
Postpartum Physiotherapy teaches you exercises and gentle workout regimes to strengthen your pelvic floor and regain your control.
